We at least need a point, so game must get into over-time.......
unless we win in regulation....

All this talk of the ranger game on saturday, and this game and that game being the most important....
well, the reason why tonights game IS the most important is because its a true test. Boston is a bonafide contender, and how the isles fare tonight will be the true test. If our boys can hang with the likes of boston.....watch out.
Bailey, Okposo, and Frans have been the difference....
Where did Colin Mcdonald come from.......he's like a new Dave Scatchard.....love his game!!

They are due for a win against Boston. Once again a good test of this team's character tonight. I actually have a little faith in this team tonight.

With Jersey losing... it helps out alot!!!

Our competition is the Rangers, Capitals, Jets, Ottawa, and the Devils!!!

6 teams fighting for 4 spots... we need the Devils, and the Jets to fall out of the picture!!!

Cheering for the Isles, Philly, and Carolina tonight!!!!

i have to admit, i liked joensuu's game last game. He was playing north south....with his size, it tough to defend.

Boston's just punishing teams right now. Not sure about this one. Hopefully they hang in there and grab a point out of it. If not, it just makes Saturday that much more critical.

I will say this, if there was ever a point in the season that I would want the Isles to face Boston in their arena its now. The Isles are rolling. They're firing on all cylinders. They need to be if they want to beat a team like Boston in their place. With Boston playing last night, the Isles couldn't ask for a better time to face them. If they can get one point out of Boston tonight, I'd be happy. Two points? I'd be estatic.

Have to come out 'swinging'... can not let Boston direct the play. Have to keep Boston guessing.

As someone said above - this game is more important than Saturday.

We have to eliminate Boston's ability to set up down low. That means winning the races on the dump in's, and crowding them in the neutral zone. After seeing how well Montreal continues to play Boston, I have to think if we bring our 'A' game, we have a decent shot....that said, Boston has a way of bullying teams into their 'B' game.
I like how we match up a little better with Joensuu added to the mix since it gives us a bit more size.

I wonder if we'll go back to Martinek like the last time we faced them or if Carkner will be called in to add muscle.

Isles either have to strike early, or they will be forced to capitalize on their power play tonight

Leafs couldn't help for poop yesterday so now we need this win big, but Saturday is still bigger

While the Flyers were one hell of a test of their resolve, the Bruins tonight are perhaps even more important. The number one team in the Eastern conference and one that has handed them their butts the last two meetings this season.

come dee i dont want to keep slamming you but please just fact check!!!!

I am battling some depression today and the biggest thing I want is the Isles to win to perk me up again. I think we have a shot but we have to come out flying and hoepfully jump on them. I am happy with a point tonight but the way the team has been playing I am expecting two points. If we win tonight then Saturday we should be in

They massacred the Canes two games ago and were embarrassing the Devils last night until they more or less lost interest and it became close. They're hurting teams, particularly in the first period...buried both of those teams before they even knew they were in a game.

...that said...the first 10 minutes tonight will be crucial.

edit -- Just watching parts of their last two games, I think it's a challenge no matter where you are. If they're forechecking you, you're getting punished by big, physical forwards. If you're forechecking them, you're getting punished by big, physical defensemen. If you manage to get through all that, you have one of two goalies over .920 to try and beat. If you get a power play and think that's going to help, you have to go against the best PK in the league. It's non-stop. And maybe because their PK is so good (or maybe just because of the players on the team), they're not afraid to push the boundaries and play on the edge all night. Even their goalie was throwing checks last night

Gotta be willing to take a lot of punishment to hang with the Bruins, imo. But, it's not impossible.
